The EVO Ascent modular snowshoe is extremely versatile. I needed the flexibility of smaller shoes for more technical terrain and the floation of the tails in deeper snow. I'm 6'1" and 210 lbs and these snowshoes can handle all of me! They are rock-solid on steep terrain and are pretty much bomb-proof. I do have two minor complaints: the bindings could use a toe bail to keep your foot from sliding forward and assure consistent foot placement on the shoe, and there is too much kick-back of snow when walking at a brisk pace. I get showered with a rooster-tail of snow! Negatives aside, if you're looking for a solid, versatile snowshoe that is as rugged as they come, this is the snowshoe for you!

Reside at the base of the Alleghany Mountains, snow shoe daily. Just received the item today and spent over two hours in one foot powder. The shoes worked flawlessly, just as described. Perfect support, balance, control and quality. Woud certainly recommend these shoes to any avid outdoors person looking for a top of the line product, built in the USA.

I just received my Evo Ascents, after ordering them yesterday; thank you Amazon!
They are gorgeous, light, strong and I went for a terrific trek.
The bindings are different and more difficult than my older MSR Women's Lightning Ascent Snow Shoes, but those are about 3 years old. These bindings will not come off accidentally, but never did my older bindings ...
They feel extremely sturdy when I walked in them and did not slip one bit!
These feel so light and easy to maneuver; possibly because I got 22" and my other ones are 25"?
We climbed up a little mountain tracking a coyote, down into a bog where my dogs and I tracked a weasel. We had a great time - I hit rocks and stumps and was not worried about any damage to these snow shoes.
I highly recommend them and will check in again.
1-28-11 I emailed customer service to tell them my trouble with the bindings and with in a week they had replacement binding tabs that are super easy! Wonderful company - !!!
